The Elric Saga
BODICE RIPPER PASTICHE: Among my many-faceted tastes, I have an enduring soft spot for classic bodice rippers, especially of the medieval variety. Julie Garwood and Johanna Lindsey, I am looking at you. As a requested tag, this is more a tone prompt—satisfied by some mixture of dubious morality, dubious consent, wild fucking terminology for anatomy (forever am I haunted by the term “man root”, bonus points for using that one), and melodrama that arguably makes it camp to a modern perspective—and I am happy to leave the plot & trope details to your fervent imagination. The ripping of a bodice/corset/stays/fantasy equivalent is optional, though welcome.
MAGICAL MARRIAGE REQUIRED TO BRING PROSPERITY AND GROWTH TO RUINED LAND: the land in question being Imrryr, perhaps post-destruction in Weird of the White Wolf, or pre-canon, ruination referring to the obvious decline/shrinking of the Melnibonéan empire. In the latter period, is the motivation Elric’s grief? Or is this some agenda of Arioch’s? The former period would make it a different first meeting—how much of their dynamic changes and how much remains the same under new circumstances? I am open to an exploration of Arioch’s motivations, but them being opaque to Elric, a puzzle he must either solve or learn to live with is very canon-typical and very iddy.
DIETY UNEXPECTED DEVELOPS FEELINGS FOR MORTAL DEVOTEE: and how would Arioch make this everyone else’s problem? There is an obvious fondness he holds for Elric in canon, without easy human labels on account of his inhumanity; I think giving it a label, a recognizable shape, could be interesting in a sense of humanizing the inhuman, or as comedic exploration of canon.
TRANS 4 TRANS: I love both trans masc and trans femme Elric, and Arioch is a shape-shifter. Why the hell not. So much ground to cover with trans characters, from themes of identity, internal versus external perspective, desire, bodies & body horror, transformation; love trans world-building in non-trans stories; and both porn without plot, porn with plot, and plot w/o porn.

A/B ARE IN AN OPEN RELATIONSHIP; A COMES HOME WITH OTHER’S CUM STILL INSIDE SO B CAN EAT IT OUT OF A: I was thinking of "A" as Sen, "B" as Hyasha, and Anli as the “other”—could pair well with JEALOUSY LEADS TO POSSESSIVE SEX (I like the idea of exploring Hyasha’s jealousy without validating; I like that they remain together even while opening themselves open to new people, places, and experiences). Anli need not appear, but also he can and I would be happy about that too.
OBSESSIVE POSSESSIVE AND CODEPENDENT & THE PROCESS OF HEALING FROM PAST TRAUMA: This is them, no? Or at least, they are the aspects of this ship that makes it appeal so much to me. Consider these tags a kind of free space to explore other tropes/plots you wanted to with them.
NON-TRADITIONAL OMEGAVERSE DYNAMICS: I adore omegaverse, and I adore this pairing, and I want to smash the things I adore together like toy dolls. I singled out “non-traditional” out of the myriad of tags, because I think that’s in line with their eccentricities as a ship. Thinking, alpha/alpha or alpha/beta (as either, though Sen being an alpha who bottoms for his beta lover intrigues me); I’ve also prompted before for Hyasha (beta or omega) studding himself for omega Sen (because he would change his literal biology to satisfy Sen); also, you could go in a route that just focuses on omegaverse world-building, how it would work in Nirai, how it would work with the floral poison, etc.
Anli/Cypar/Dacatt/Delos/Heigl/Hyasha/Mishe/Owyn/Sen/Xiel/Yve
THE EVERYDAY COMPLICATIONS OF BEING POLYAM & NOBODY TOLD ME IT WOULD INVOLVE SO MUCH MATH: I love how the somewhat open-ending to canon, which didn’t prop up a specific love interest as Anli’s canon endgame, and the chemistry between various companions, leaves room for interpreting a western-style polycule. And lord… An 11 person polycule (complete with a beloved & well-fed pet) is a lot. There are many questions to be answered regarding sleeping arrangements, bathroom schedules, grocery bills, communication, and more. How many rooms did they need to rent at inns? Do they share a wing of the castle now that Anli is king? Those poor palace cooks… This might be fun to tackle as a 5+1 or from an outsider POV.
ROYAL HAREM AU: prompted more to solidify what is subtext than as a proper AU, though if you have an idea along those lines have at it; but Anli is now king, and has 10 lovers who aren’t called his harem by the game, but c’mon. Nirai’s nobility and church have been overthrown for an twenty year old with a gay harem. (Iconic of him.) How does this play out politically in the aftermath? What about the expectation for a queen and an heir? Do the people find this scandalous or romantic? What stories do people tell about the whole affair and the individual companions?

If there is one thing this fandom has taught me, it’s that top/bottom preferences are actually a big deal. Except they’re not. I don’t really care. I have some preferences, which I have listed below, but I’m also a believer in subversion and switching, sub tops and dom bottoms, etc. Prioritize what works best for your story, over my mild top/bottom preferences.

- DILUC/JEAN/KAEYA: no preference, except Jean should peg them

CRACK TREATED SERIOUSLY is, to me, a wild, ridiculous situation played completely straight; the characters would respond to the farcical situation as if it was totally serious, because in universe it is, and it’s a wonderful vehicle to probe the depths of a character or relationship(s). Sitcom-esque, rather than lolrandom type humor; workplace shenanigans, or magical mishaps, or interpersonal miscommunications taken to extremes. DILUC/VARKA
SEX COMEDY AS CHARACTER/RELATIONSHIP STUDY: I love a Varka who is simultaneously noble and chivalric, and also silly, goofy, and a little perverted. He is multi-faceted. Diluc is a good soul, with a wild side to be side-eyed, and a nicely contrasting seriousness. Then there is the ghost of Crepus, haunting the narrative. Fertile territory to be explored with this tag, and it would work nicely with A ACCIDENTALLY LEARNS B IS A CUNTBOY; CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT (or with the below).
ACCIDENTAL INCEST: I have, even before Varka was revealed, been shipping him with Crepus in a sort of one-that-go-away situation. Varka’s reveal just solidified it. And then I had a big brain moment and thought, ‘Well, what if the reason we know nothing about Diluc’s mother is because Crepus is who birthed him (FtM!Crepus, mpreg is normal-verse, omegaverse), and among the many secrets Crepus kept is that Varka is the other father.’ This crossed wires with my other idea, ‘What if Varka is attracted to Diluc when he gets back from expedition because Diluc looks so much like Crepus?’ And ergo, the desire for Varka/Diluc accidental incest was sparked, and raged on like a wildfire. There’s a lot of places you could aim your focus here (and this would happily combine with the other selected prompts)—before and/or after they find out, how they find out, the shame and guilt and attraction that refuses to cool off, does anyone else find out, do they pursue this knowing the truth, and so on.
CREPUS/VARKA
BABYTRAPPING… but gone wrong, is the idea here. As in, Diluc was Crepus’ attempt to babytrap Varka, maybe so they could be together despite status or so Varka would stop going on expedition, only Varka never realized Diluc was his child and Crepus wouldn’t put it to words for reasons (character flaw, miscommunication, etc). But if you want to go even more AU and play it straight, I’m down for that too.
FORESHADOWING OF FUTURE TRAGIC CANON EVENTS & SEEMING FLUFF THAT’S INCREDIBLY BITTERSWEET This is what draws me to this pairing, how doomed it is regardless of the shape or route taken. Crepus will die because he must for Diluc & Kaeya’s character development; Varka must leave for his own development; Crepus must be with someone else to have an heir (or if you want to join me in my crack mpreg headcanons, must never tell Varka that he’s Diluc’s father). And that will inform the subtext if not the actual text of any scene between them, for the sake of my emotional devestation, which is catharsis in its own way.
